We just certified another home in the EPA Energy Star program. This was our largest to date at almost 4,300 square feet. This residence just happens to be not only in the same neighborhood of Ocean Ridge Plantation but also on the same Waterstone Crossing street as our last EPA Energy Star rated home. The other home was just over 3,600 square feet and about as complicated as they come from a rating standpoint. Both homes feature high efficiency heat pumps and encapsulated crawlspaces as well as a myriad of other features. This continues our 100% commitment to build only EPA Energy Star rated homes.
Blue Sky Building Company was just announced as being the #2 Builder in the Best of Brunswick contest. This local contest polls local residents as well as all readers of the Brunswick Beacon newspaper. Out of the thousands of votes for the hundreds of licensed builders in Brunswick County we were voted #2. We feel honored to be put in such a spot and are deeply grateful to our fine trade partners, our super suppliers and our great clients. Thank you so much Brunswick County.
Well, it’s good news really… Lumber futures are starting to go higher. Although this is bad news for building costs, it’s good news for the economy. Building costs always seem to be the leading indicator of an economic improvement. Here’s a nice graph showing where lumber is right now in relation to the last few years. Blue Sky Building Company continuously monitors building cost in an effort to stay on the front edge of the market.
